Our expert, Ruya is a travel writer, adventurer, experienced tour guide, award –winning documentary director. She spent four years shooting her recently released documentary film “Forsaken Paths” on Black Sea Chepni Tribe traditions and changing life styles. She joined a Chepni family during seasonal immigration. And lived with them in the high pastures of Black Sea Mountains.
She was born in Ankara in 1972. After graduating from Tarsus American School in 1990, she received a B.A. degree on General Linguistics at Hacettepe University, Ankara in 1994.
She has been working as a professional tourist guide in Anatolia (Turkey) and leading cultural trips to Central Asia, India, Nepal and Tibet. Her travel articles have been published in a number newspapers and magazines in Turkey. |
